Post Comment Love 29 November - 1 December

Hello there, and welcome back to this week’s #PoCoLo - a relaxed, friendly linky which I co-host with Suzanne, where you can link any blog post published in the last week. We know you’ll find some great posts to read, and maybe some new-to-you blogs too, so do pop over and visit some of the posts linked, comment and share some of that love.

Please don’t link up posts which are older as they will be removed from the linky, and if older posts are linked then please don’t feel that it’s necessary to comment on those. If you were here last week it was great to have you along, if you’re new here this week we’re pleased you’ve joined us.

The snow has all gone here, though we still have the colder temperatures - apart from a strange couple of days were it hit fifteen/sixteen degrees, even overnight. All very peculiar. And the wind, boy that was windy - I’m normally a heavy sleeper, but it woke me, several times, but thankfully other than a couple of plastic plant pots being repositioned we had no damage. Even the garden furniture cover stayed on, thanks to the two additional straps we added. One is around the chairs keeping everything together, and the other is under the lip of the table. Together these stop the cover looking, and acting, like a billowing mushroom. Phew.

This week I was surprised to see three red chillies on my chilli plant, which I’d brought into the utility room for the winter. Without a greenhouse I was stumped, but it seems more than happy here, though no new chillies have appeared since I brought it in, hence the dead looking flowers. But I’ll definitely take the red chillies.

Also I’ve signed up to Bluesky, and so far I’m enjoying it over there. If you’re also on Bluesky it’d be great to see you - you can find me at bosworthlife.bsky.social.

Have a great week.

No doubt if you’re in the UK you’ll have seen pictures of or experienced the snow this week. We went to bed on Monday with it sleeting thinking that it was probably too wet for the snow to settle, waking up on Tuesday to realise we were wrong! And while it’s pretty, I was glad that I didn’t need to go out at all.

I saw a post on social media that said they preferred the second day of snow, and I wholeheartedly agree - the sun returns, it’s melted a little and the roads are clearer. But also, with the sun there’s also the sunrise and sunset. Sunsets are more my thing than sunrises, not least because I’m a night owl but also because we have far fewer windows on the front of our house - though it’s glorious to have the sunrise in our bathroom!

And so this week’s photo is the day 2 sunset looking across the gardens, and our neighbours Christmas lights, which have also appeared this week - and while it’s too early for me to decorate (or even think too much about Christmas), I’m definitely not sad about their lights!

Have a good week.

This week there’s been more ‘firsts’ - I’ve finally been inside the next village’s village shop leaving with some local eggs and cooking apples; we’ve made our first (but not last) visit to the Newark Civil War Centre to discover more about Newark’s fascinating history, topping that off with lunch in a newly refurbished and reopened pub with great burgers. Then as the sun was out we headed up to Farndon and walked along the River Trent and around Farndon ponds - again something new to us. It was great to be out exploring in the sun, especially as the forecast ahead doesn’t look quite so bright.

I’ve also got a new sign which arrived this week from eBay. It looks vintage, but isn’t and that’s ok - it’s destined for the garage gym, which is also home to MOH’s dartboard. I think it’ll look great there, though I don’t expect it will make us a fortune!

Have a great week.
